ACT OUT! is based in Houston, TX, and has been created to help those aged 50+ to learn the art and craft of acting.

My name is Janye Anderson and I have been performing in theatres across the country for several years. It is my passion and I am always looking to improve my craft because the art of acting is a life long learning journey.

​

As a result, after moving to Houston two years ago I began looking for acting classes. What came as no surprise was that there are no acting classes specifically targeted for 50+ age population.

 

While it is certainly not critical to the learning environment, I have found that many mature adults feel somewhat intimidated finding themselves in a room full of twenty and thirty year olds. There are many acting schools targeted toward the younger crowd and children, but for those aged 50+? ..... they are non existent!

As a result, I started ACT OUT! as a way to help mature men and women who have a desire to learn the art of performing in a non-threatening manner.
